Our Fitness courses is focused on Healthy Aging, for our aging population. Many people with physical disabilities and those recovering from surgery can benefit from certain fitness programs.
Classes and workshops are offered by certified instructors and other professions. They take place throughout the year in different locations, depending on the number of interested participants. Please call us for more information about private lessons or group classes near you.
The cost of classes varies according to the type, size and the location of the class.

Senior Fitness Program

A special fitness program designed by the Western University, Department of Ageing.

Senior Fitness Program focuses on improving:
• Cardiovascular endurance
• Anaerobic capacity
• Muscular strength, endurance and power
• Balance
• Coordination.

The following enhancements are used In Senior Fitness Classes:
• Exercise Balls
• Elastic Bands
• Weights
• Plastic Tubes

Functional exercise for Dementia
Different tools and techniques are used in this program to enhance mood, confidence, self-esteem, while it assists in improving strength, balance, flexibility, heart health and sleep. Teaching functional exercises can be done in small group setting or individual bases.

Functional Fitness for Fall Prevention
Fall prevention exercises are specifically designed to strengthen the major muscles and to improve balance which results in confidence, the speed of walk, and it enhances mental ability and mood. Participants will learn safety considerations and ways to implement specific exercises to enhance the functional fitness and reduce the risk of falling.

Post-Rehab Exercise for Stroke
This program comprised of aerobic activity, strength, balance, and flexibility exercises which are an excellent way to maintain physical and mental health after stroke recovery and rehabilitation in order to improve the daily activities of stroke survivors.

Functional Fitness for Older Adults
When older adults’ functional strength, balance, flexibility and cardiovascular capacity is improved, they experience an increase in quality of life and mental health. Participants can learn how to set up goal-oriented, progressive programs for strength, balance and flexibility while focusing on challenges of an individual’s current level of ability.

Restorative Care Training
This program aims to improve the quality of life of frail older adults. It can increase their independency, self-esteem and self-image. It provides strategies to encourage them to engage more fully in self-care.

Tiered Exercise Program
This program offers three different set of exercises, each comprised of 10 simple, progressive exercise designed to improve mobility levels of individuals with varying levels of frailty. Older adult who have lost significant physical capacity can improve functional mobility which leads to physical and mental health benefit.

Chair Yoga
Yoga is an ancient art, that focuses on physical fitness through simultaneous development of strength, flexibility and stamina. It helps the proper body alignment and breathing, and it contributes to overall health and wellness of those who practice it.
Chair Yoga is designed for those with limited mobility and those who are not able to use the floor mat.

Chair Dance
Chair Dance is the best way to targets wellness through creative movements with selected music. It improves physical and cognitive ability and brings joy back to their life. The Dance includes modification for both standing and sitting positions.

Group Walking with Walk Leader
Seniors can walk together under a supervision of a trained Walk Leader to enhance health while building connection to nature, and each other. Group walk motives and encourages people to go for a walk. The program supports and mobilized people to help them activate the power of parks and to improve quality of life and make new friends.
